Enslavement Era Disclosure and Redress Act requires companies to disclose past involvement in slaveholding or the slave trade.

The Enslavement Era Disclosure and Redress Act mandates that companies participating in competitive bidding with the State of Illinois review their records for any evidence of participation in slaveholding or the slave trade. Companies must submit affidavits detailing their findings, including names and ages of enslaved persons, slaveholders, and evidence of transactions benefiting from slavery. The Act establishes a Redress Fund to receive contributions from companies found to have participated in slaveholding or the slave trade.
