SB2166

OPEN MTGS-ATTENDANCE

Introduced·2/7/25
Introduced Text

Allows public body members to attend meetings by video or audio conference under certain conditions.

SB2166 amends the Open Meetings Act to allow members of public bodies to attend meetings by video or audio conference if they are unable to attend in person due to personal illness, employment, emergencies, or other reasons designated by the public body. The bill requires that all members can hear each other and the public can access discussions and votes. It also mandates that at least one member or a key officer must be present at the regular meeting location unless a disaster prevents it. The public body must provide alternative arrangements if the regular location is not feasible.
