Establishes the Fund the Police Grant Fund to support local law enforcement in Illinois.
The Fund the Police Act creates the Fund the Police Grant Fund, a special fund in the State treasury. The Illinois Law Enforcement Training Standards Board must use the fund to make grants to local governments for hiring and retaining law enforcement officers, funding body camera mandates, additional training, outreach and community policing activities, mental health treatment for individuals in county jails, mental health care for law enforcement officers, and purchasing public safety equipment.
