Illinois SB2082, the Adult Content Age Verification Act, requires commercial entities to implement reasonable age verification methods for individuals accessing material harmful to minors. These methods include government-issued identification or transactional data. Entities failing to comply face civil penalties up to $5,000 per day of violation, with additional penalties up to $10,000. The Attorney General can investigate violations and initiate civil actions. Penalties collected are deposited into the Cyber Exploitation of Children Fund.
