SB1982 amends the Illinois Dental Practice Act to redefine supervision agreements for public health dental hygienists.
SB1982 amends the Illinois Dental Practice Act by changing the definition of supervision agreements for public health dental hygienists. After completing a training program, a public health dental hygienist can provide services according to the terms of a supervision agreement with a dentist working in or contracted with a local or state government agency, or providing services as part of a certified school-based program. This supervision agreement allows care to be provided in settings outside of a private dental office.
