Illinois SB1951 establishes an annual open season for gray fox hunting and trapping, set by the Director of Natural Resources.

Illinois SB1951 amends the Wildlife Code to establish an annual open season for gray fox hunting and trapping, set by the Director of Natural Resources between November 1 and February 15. The Director can adjust the season dates, length, or close it based on the gray fox population. Additionally, the Director can set, lessen, or increase the daily bag limit or possession limit of gray fox through administrative rules. The bill also grants the Department of Natural Resources emergency rulemaking powers to implement these changes.
