Waives fees for birth records for youth in care and their guardians.

Illinois SB1876 amends the Vital Records Act to waive applicable fees for birth records for youth in care, former youth in care, and their legal guardians. The State Registrar of Vital Records, in collaboration with the Department of Children and Family Services, will establish standards and procedures for these requests. Verification of youth in care status can be done through a court order or by a human services agency.
