Illinois SB1863 appropriates $90 million to the Department of Transportation for various passenger rail services.

Illinois SB1863 allocates funds from the General Revenue Fund to the Department of Transportation for multiple passenger rail services. The bill provides $10 million for each of the following routes: Chicago to Rockford, Chicago to Moline, Chicago to East St. Louis, Chicago to Carbondale, Chicago to Galesburg to Quincy, Chicago to Peoria, Chicago to Milwaukee, and Chicago to Madison. Additionally, it allocates $15 million for the 300 miles per hour high-speed line passenger rail service. The appropriations are effective July 1, 2025.
