SB1856 amends the Township Code to allow any group of registered voters to request an advisory question of public policy pertaining to the statutory duties of townships. The advisory question must be included on the ballot at the next regularly scheduled election if approved by the majority of electors present at the annual meeting. The township board must certify the question to the proper election officials for submission in accordance with the general election law.
