SB1799 amends the School Code to allow school boards to contract with third parties for non-instructional services.

SB1799 amends the School Code to allow a board of education to enter into a one-time contract with a third party for non-instructional services currently performed by an employee or bargaining unit member. The contract can last no longer than three months and must be entered into only once during a school year. The bill requires the third party to provide several documents with their bid, including evidence of liability insurance, a benefits package, a list of employees, a cost projection, and an affidavit of completed background checks.
