SB1782 expands child care assistance eligibility in Illinois to include families with newborns and other specific groups.

SB1782 amends the Illinois Public Aid Code to expand eligibility for child care assistance to include families with newborns, families transitioning from welfare to work, families at risk of becoming welfare recipients, and families with special needs. It also includes working families with very low incomes and families needing child care for education and training activities. Families eligible for assistance can receive weekly payments based on the number of children in care.
