Prohibits carbon sequestration activities within a sole-source aquifer in Illinois.

The bill amends the Environmental Protection Act to prohibit carbon sequestration activities within a sequestration facility that overlies, underlies, or passes through a sole-source aquifer. This definition includes the project review area of the aquifer as identified by the United States Environmental Protection Agency. The prohibition does not affect existing activities permitted by the EPA before the effective date of the bill. The bill also defines terms such as "carbon dioxide capture project," "carbon sequestration activity," and "sole-source aquifer.
