Illinois SB1708 amends the Illinois Pension Code to allow policemen to recover court costs and litigation expenses, including reasonable attorney's fees, if they prevail in administrative review of disability benefit denials or terminations. The bill specifies that this applies to duty disability, ordinary disability, and occupational disease disability benefits. Additionally, the bill amends the State Mandates Act to exempt this new provision from requiring state reimbursement.
