SB1701 amends the Illinois Public Labor Relations Act by redefining supervisory status for police officers and firefighters. For police officers, a supervisor is any officer in a permanent rank for which the police officer is appointed, excluding those in certain ranks or positions. For firefighters, a supervisor is any officer in a permanent rank for which the firefighter is appointed, excluding those in certain ranks or positions.
