Illinois SB1679 mandates transparency in health care services, requiring covered entities to disclose which services they provide or restrict for.

The Health Care Transparency Act requires the Illinois Department of Public Health to identify health care services that may be denied for nonmedical reasons. Covered entities, including hospitals and ambulatory surgical treatment centers, must provide patients with a disclosure form detailing available services. This form must be part of the informed consent process. The Department of Public Health will develop this form, review it biennially, and maintain a public list of covered entities and their disclosure forms.
