Illinois SB1570 amends the Kratom Control Act to prohibit the sale and possession of Kratom products by or to minors under 18 years of age.

Illinois SB1570 amends the Kratom Control Act by expanding the prohibition on Kratom sales and possession to include any person, not just minors under 18 years of age. The bill defines "Kratom" as any parts of the plant Mitragyna speciosa and related compounds. It prohibits the sale, purchase, distribution, or furnishing of Kratom products to minors. Violations are classified as Class B misdemeanors, with a mandatory fine of at least $500 for knowingly selling to minors.
