SB1518

Illinois SB1518 offers reduced-fee lifetime fishing licenses to resident veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces.

Illinois SB1518 amends the Fish and Aquatic Life Code to provide lifetime fishing licenses at half the usual fee for resident veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces. These veterans must provide verification of their service, which the Department of Natural Resources will define. The bill also establishes rules for the issuance and use of lifetime licenses, including the ability to suspend or revoke them. Lifetime licenses are non-refundable, with a $10 fee for reissuance. The bill does not exempt veterans from other fishing or hunting license requirements.
