Illinois SB1465 amends the Nursing Home Care Act to adjust staffing ratios and penalties for noncompliance in nursing homes. The bill specifies that direct care staff, including registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and certified nurse assistants, must meet minimum staffing requirements. It also allows facilities to use specialized clinical staff, such as clinical social workers and psychiatrists, to count toward staffing ratios. The bill mandates that facilities post notices of noncompliance if they fall short of the required staffing levels by more than 20%.
