Illinois SB1388 amends the Regional Transportation Authority Act to create a program for free rides for low-income individuals.

Illinois SB1388 amends the Regional Transportation Authority Act to require the Regional Transportation Authority and related boards to create a program providing free rides to persons earning under 138% of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' poverty guidelines. The Authority must also remove deceased individuals from the list of those eligible for free or reduced fare services. The changes take effect July 1, 2025.
