Illinois SB1351 grants immunity to engineers and architects volunteering in emergency response activities.

Illinois SB1351 amends the Code of Civil Procedure to provide immunity for licensed engineers, architects, and supervised volunteers who offer services without compensation during emergency response activities. This immunity covers acts, services, or omissions provided within 30 days of an emergency declaration, as long as the volunteer acted reasonably. The immunity applies to those working with community emergency response teams, county or state emergency management agencies, or the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
