Illinois SB1313 amends the TRUST Act to further restrict law enforcement's involvement in federal civil immigration enforcement. It prohibits law enforcement agencies and officials from participating in immigration enforcement operations, providing information to immigration agents, or entering into agreements to house or detain individuals for civil immigration violations. Exceptions are made for individuals charged or convicted of criminal offenses under Illinois law, who must be reported to immigration agents.
