SB0263 amends the Illinois Vehicle Code to require all motor vehicles manufactured after January 1, 2028, to have adjustable driving beam systems.

SB0263 amends the Illinois Vehicle Code to mandate that all motor vehicles with at least two lighted head lamps, manufactured after January 1, 2028, must be equipped with adjustable driving beam systems. These systems must meet the United States Department of Transportation regulations, as outlined in 49 CFR 571.108. The bill also specifies that these systems should emit white light, including high intensity discharge (HID) lamps, or light of a yellow or amber tint. The act takes effect on January 1, 2026.
