Illinois SB0199 amends the Roadside Memorial Act to change the duration and messages of DUI and fatal crash memorial markers.

The Roadside Memorial Act in Illinois is updated by SB0199 to modify the duration and messages of DUI and fatal crash memorial markers. DUI memorial markers, erected on or after July 1, 2021, will now permanently display the message "Don't Drive Under the Influence" and can include the victim's name and date of the crash. Fatal crash memorial markers will permanently display "Reckless Driving Costs Lives" or "Drive With Care," depending on the cause of the crash, and can also include the victim's name and date of the crash.
