SB0198 expands the Heroes Way Designation Program to include fallen first responders.

SB0198 amends the Heroes Way Designation Program to allow honorary signs to be placed on highways in memory of fallen first responders. The bill expands eligibility to include those related to first responders killed in the line of duty. The Illinois Department of Transportation will process applications and erect signs, with fees covering the costs. The program honors fallen Illinois heroes who were members of the United States Armed Forces or first responders.
