Illinois SB0186 facilitates employment opportunities for active-duty military members, military spouses, and veterans by allowing them to practice in Illinois under their out-of-state professional license while completing state licensure requirements. To be eligible, applicants must prove residency in Illinois or relocation due to military orders, and their military status or that of their spouse. The temporary permit is valid for 3 years and cannot be renewed. It does not apply to professions requiring emergency or public safety certifications unless authorized by the licensing board.
