When a vacancy occurs in an at-large judgeship, it converts to a resident judgeship based on the county where the incumbent judge resided when elected. The first vacancy converts to a Champaign County judgeship, and the next two to Macon County. This change does not entitle the circuit to additional at-large judgeships.
