Prohibits directors, employees, investors, or family members of those involved in procurement processes from bidding on contracts in the same local.
The Procurement Bid Ethics Transparency Act aims to prevent conflicts of interest in local government procurement bidding processes. It prohibits directors, employees, investors, or immediate family members of any corporation, organization, or entity involved in a procurement bid process from submitting and competing for a bid in the same local government unit. Failure to disclose such involvement to the Executive Ethics Commission results in a civil penalty of up to $1,000,000. The Act also allows for disqualification from future procurement processes or contracts for up to five years.
