SB0107 establishes the Care for Retired Police Dogs Program in Illinois to fund veterinary care for retired police dogs.

SB0107 creates the Care for Retired Police Dogs Program within the University of Illinois to provide funding for veterinary care for retired police dogs. The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois will contract with a not-for-profit corporation to administer the program. The program will disburse grants from the Illinois Police K-9 Memorial Fund to reimburse former handlers or adopters of retired police dogs for veterinary care, up to $1,500 per dog per year.
