SB0096

SCH CD-NONPUBLIC STUDENT-SPORT

Introduced·1/17/25
Introduced Text

Allows nonpublic school students to participate in district athletic activities if their parents pay local taxes.

Beginning with the 2025-2026 school year, the bill requires school boards to allow nonpublic school students, including home-schooled students, to participate in extracurricular athletic activities sponsored by the district. This applies if the student's parent or guardian pays real estate taxes on property within the district and provides proof to the school. The student does not need to enroll or complete coursework at a public school within the district.
