Introduced Text

Illinois SB0060 mandates a secure, free system for vote-by-mail tracking by January 1, 2026.

Illinois SB0060 amends the Election Code to require the State Board of Elections, in collaboration with election authorities, to implement a secure, free access system for vote-by-mail tracking by January 1, 2026. This system will enable voters to monitor the delivery and receipt of their vote-by-mail ballots and determine if their ballots were accepted or rejected, along with the reasons for any rejections. The system will be accessible from the first day vote-by-mail ballots are accepted until 30 days after the official canvass.
