SB0053

Illinois SB0053 amends the Lobbyist Registration Act to prohibit lobbyists from offering anything of value to officials or candidates.

Illinois SB0053 amends the Lobbyist Registration Act by adding a section that prohibits lobbyists or lobbying entities from promising anything of value to an official, State employee, or a candidate for a State executive or State legislative office. This includes campaign contributions, endorsements, or in-kind contributions. The bill also prohibits lobbyists from soliciting officials or State employees to violate the State Officials and Employees Ethics Act. The provisions do not prevent the making or accepting of voluntary contributions otherwise in accordance with law.
