The Illinois House of Representatives commends Immanuel Lutheran Church of Glenview for its 150 years of dedicated service. The church began in the mid-1870s when Lutheran families in Glenview sought to establish a congregation. Reverend Adam Detzer led the initial services, and the congregation was formally organized in January 1876. The cornerstone of the first church was laid on April 22, 1876, and dedicated on June 25, 1876. A new brick church was constructed and dedicated on November 28, 1926.
