Illinois House Resolution 744 urges all data centers in Illinois to provide their own energy to alleviate the burden on the state's power grid. The resolution highlights the rising energy costs and the strain on the grid due to the increasing demand from data centers. It also urges the Illinois Power Agency and the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency to develop a plan to reduce or delay CO2 emissions reductions, allowing currently running Illinois-based generation capacity to keep running.
