Opposes Illinois Senate Bill 3572, which would criminalize abortion and restrict access to in vitro fertilization.
Illinois House Resolution 695 opposes Senate Bill 3572, which would legally define a fertilized human egg as a person, subjecting women seeking reproductive healthcare and their doctors to first-degree murder charges. The bill contains no exceptions for rape or incest, and would subject survivors to harsher criminal penalties than their abusers. It also bars access to in vitro fertilization. The resolution opposes efforts to punish women for accessing reproductive healthcare and to restrict access to IVF.
