Kathy Veroni, born in Rockford and a graduate of Boylan Catholic High School and Illinois State University, coached the Western Illinois University softball team for 34 years. She led the team to 869 wins, 11 conference championships, five AIAW national tournaments, and three NCAA national tournaments.
