Illinois House Resolution 404 encourages State agencies to regulate the use of electrical lights in State buildings and facilities to conserve energy and minimize light pollution. It urges turning off lights when not in use, except for security or safety purposes, to reduce energy consumption and carbon footprint, and to protect wildlife and night sky visibility.
