The Illinois House of Representatives congratulates the Benet Academy boys basketball team, the Redwings, for winning the 2024-25 Illinois High School Association Class 4A State Championship. The Redwings defeated Warren Township High School 55 to 54 on March 15, 2025, securing the first boys basketball state championship in the school's history. The team compiled a record of 33 wins and 5 losses during the season, led by Head Coach Gene Heidkamp and Assistant Coaches Michael Connelly, John Bonk, Scott Veselik, Michael Rembert, Justin Enochs, Dave Kleinschmidt, and Sean Etzkorn.
