Illinois HB5762 amends the TRUST Act to allow state law enforcement to release individuals under federal immigration detainers or warrants if acting in good faith. It provides immunity from civil or criminal liability for such releases, except in cases of willful or wanton misconduct. The bill also prohibits state law enforcement from inquiring about or investigating an individual's citizenship or immigration status. It repeals the Court Access, Safety, and Participation Act.
