Illinois HB5757 amends the Code of Criminal Procedure of 1963 to modify the conditions under which pretrial release can be revoked and sanctions imposed. The bill specifies that pretrial release for a felony or Class A misdemeanor can be revoked if the defendant commits a new felony or Class A misdemeanor during their release. For Class B or C misdemeanors, petty or business offenses, or ordinance violations, pretrial release can be revoked if the defendant commits a new felony during their release.
