Modifies the First Time Weapon Offense Program to allow probation for non-violent firearm-related offenses.

Modifies the First Time Weapon Offense Program to allow probation for non-violent firearm-related offenses. Eliminates the requirement for State's Attorney consent for participation. Requires the court to consider diversion to treatment, including eligibility for probation, before imposing a sentence of incarceration for certain firearm-related offenses. Allows a defendant to petition for review of their eligibility for the Program if convicted prior to the effective date of this Act.
