HB5545 amends the Illinois Vehicle Code to allow the use of green lights on certain vehicles.

HB5545 amends the Illinois Vehicle Code to allow the use of green oscillating, flashing, or rotating lights on motor vehicles or equipment used by contractors, engineering or survey crews, or union representatives engaged in work on a highway. These lights can only be used while the vehicles are actually engaged in work on a highway. The bill also specifies the conditions under which other types of lights, such as red, white, amber, and blue, can be used on various types of vehicles, including emergency, construction, and maintenance vehicles.
