HB5490 modifies the Environmental Protection Act by adjusting fees on new and used tire sales. Beginning July 1, 2027, 10 cents from each tire sale fee will fund the Illinois Lyme Association's Tick Research, Education, and Evaluation project. Additionally, the fee for the Emergency Public Health Fund will increase from 50 cents to 60 cents per tire.
