The Illinois Responsible Outdoor Lighting Control Act mandates that all new luminaires purchased or installed after June 30, 2032, must have a correlated color temperature of 2,700 Kelvin or lower. Outdoor lighting must be fully shielded to prevent light trespass and glare, with light emitted at less than 80 degrees from the downward vertical direction.
