Illinois HB5466 amends the Community Behavioral Health Care Professional Loan Repayment Program to update eligibility criteria and work requirements. To be eligible, applicants must be U.S. citizens or eligible noncitizens, residents of Illinois, and currently working as behavioral health professionals in community mental health centers. They must also have an outstanding balance on an educational loan and not have defaulted on it. Renewal applicants must provide evidence of continuous employment for the 12 months preceding the application.
