Illinois HB5466 amends the Community Behavioral Health Care Professional Loan Repayment Program to update eligibility criteria. The bill requires applicants to be employed by a facility in an underserved or rural federally designated Mental Health Professional Shortage Area at the time of application and to provide evidence of continuous employment for the 12 months preceding the application. It also defines "behavioral health professional" as a professional engaged in the delivery of behavioral health, mental health, or substance use disorder treatment or services.
