Illinois HB5460 amends the Higher Education Student Assistance Act to create scholarships for students pursuing a Post-Master of Social Work Professional Educator License with an endorsement in School Social Work. These scholarships, also known as School Social Work scholarships, can be used to pay tuition and mandatory fees at qualified Illinois institutions. Recipients must commit to working as a school social worker in Illinois for at least two of the five years following graduation. Exceptions include military service, temporary disability, or inability to find employment.
