HB5458

MHDD CENTERS-READMISSIONS

Introduced·2/6/26
Introduced Text

Illinois HB5458 allows state-operated developmental centers to readmit former residents upon request.

HB5458 amends the Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Administrative Act to ensure that state-operated developmental centers funded, certified, or licensed by the Department of Human Services can readmit former residents who transferred to and currently receive services at a licensed community-integrated living arrangement. This applies if the former resident consents or if the resident has a guardian with placement authority who consents based on a determination that the former resident's medical needs cannot be met by the community-integrated living arrangement.
