Illinois HB5411, known as the Rabies Vaccination Access for Shelters and Public Health Act, amends the Veterinary Medicine and Surgery Practice Act of 2004 and the Animal Control Act. It allows a licensed veterinarian to delegate the administration of rabies vaccines within animal shelters, animal control facilities, or government-authorized public health vaccination clinics to certified veterinary technicians or trained shelter vaccine administrators.
