Illinois HB5322 mandates the Board of Higher Education to consider student demographics and needs when reviewing new units of instruction, research.

HB5322 amends the Board of Higher Education Act to require the Board to take into account unique student demographics and needs when approving new units of instruction, research, or public service at public institutions of higher education. The Board must also consider statewide strategic plans and may review and consolidate existing programs. The Board is authorized to define reasonable and moderate extensions of existing programs.
