Illinois HB5321 amends the School Code to allow school districts, special education cooperatives, and other public educational employers to recognize graduate-level continuing education coursework for salary advancement or lane changes. This applies to coursework completed on or after July 1, 2026. The coursework must be offered by a regionally accredited institution of higher education, result in a letter grade, and be taught by a credentialed educator with a master's degree or higher. The instructor must provide substantive instructional support and individualized feedback.
