Illinois HB5299 amends the Unified Code of Corrections to limit fees for electronic funds transfer services provided to committed persons in correctional facilities. The bill prohibits the Department of Corrections and the Department of Juvenile Justice from entering into or renewing contracts with vendors whose fees exceed 2% of the total amount of funds being transferred or $15 per transaction, whichever is less.
